Forma Automotive, Toyota’s first Hispanic, woman-owned direct tier I supplier, was recently selected as the 2019 Supplier of the Year by the Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (SMSDC). The award was presented to Founder & CEO Rosa Santana and Vice President Lisa Navarro-Gonzales at the 2019 SMSDC Face Time Expo & Awards Ceremony held at the San Antonio Westin Riverwalk.

Corporate members of SMSDC nominate certified minority-owned suppliers who demonstrate continued excellence. From these nominations, SMSDC honors one supplier for their business acumen and community service. Forma Automotive was nominated by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, and the award marks the second time the company has been named Supplier of the Year by the SMSDC.

“We’re humbled that Toyota chose to nominate Forma Automotive as Supplier of the Year a second time,” said Founder & CEO Rosa Santana. “We have an amazing team of talented individuals and are grateful that our hard work and continuous improvement efforts are being recognized in this way by both Toyota and the SMSDC.”

Forma Automotive provides fully assembled Tacoma truck beds to Toyota at their San Antonio manufacturing facility and is preparing to launch its second facility at Toyota’s new plant in Guanajuato, Mexico.
